Well Kevin must think this WSFFL business is a piece of cake! In a week of low scores and small margins, goals from midfield stalwarts Frank Lampard and Kevin Nolan see the fledgling FCK2 top after a week one win over Trusted. A clean sheet comeback from the Muppets saw them win the verdict over Claymore. The most expensive man from the August auction, Roberto Soldado, had scored from the spot for Clive and a Ross Barkley screamer had the Swordsmen 3-2 up but cleans from Ashley Cole and Daniel Agger delivered the three points to Ryan.

Fred's splurge at the auction didn't pay dividends in week one as his team went down 3-2 to the Phoenix. Wilfried Bony struck eight minutes from time to level the game at 2-2 after another RvP brace for Brian and Pablo Zabaleta celebrated his new contract with the winning clean. Two new boys at Final Fantasy had a big say in their victory. New keeper Alan McGregor saved an early penalty to open the scoring and Ricky van Wolfswinkel headed what proved to be the winner on 71 minutes against Nil Satis.

It all happened late at San Dimas this week. Simon Mignolet's 89th minute penalty save was immediately cancelled out by Rickie Lambert converting from the spot. Just as I was rueing two points lost new defender Dejan Lovren got the deciding clean. One goal was enough for YTFIb to edge Cheese Makers. Samir Nasri teed up to fire past a helpless Tim Krul and win the points for Julian.

Three teams who might expect to be at the sharp end of the table had to settle for a point. The CFJs, without Gareth Bale and Luis Suarez, couldn't break through the Mega Bucks defence. The Artisans will be moaning about officiating all week after an erroneous offside flag denied Alvaro Negredo a debut goal and what would have been a winner. Ben's team were 2-0 up at that point, both from Christian Benteke, but the Aardvarks latched on to that reprieve and found cleans from Winston Reid and Danny Rose to grab a point.
