Claymore take a three-point lead through the Christmas break and into the New Year. Branislav Ivanovic got his first of the season, Olivier Giroud his tenth but Clive’s team only saw off another two-goal salvo from Odion Ighalo for the Aardvarks with cleans from Miguel (or is it Manuel) Britos and Aaron Cresswell.

Athletico and San Dimas warmed up for the PCMT final next week by scoring five apiece. Brian’s team demolished YTFIB and dropped Julian’s side back to the bottom. Riyad Mahrez got two from the spot (how has he not won Player of the Month yet?) My team had more of a struggle and edged out Final Fantasy after leading 2-0 then trailing 4-2 with eight minutes left (what a finish from Yaya Toure that was.) Charlie Daniels pulled one back through an incorrectly rewarded penalty and then Kyle Walker and Neil Taylor cleans turned the game in my favour.

Fred is not out of it and shrugged off the Mega Bucks challenge through an unmarked Dele Alli just before the break and a Hugo Lloris clean although they did have Salomon Rondon sent off in injury time. FCK2 are also on the coat-tails of the leading pack. Harry Kane marauded through Matthew's defence to score the only goal for Kevin and Jon to down the maturing Cheese.

The Charity Shield finalists head into Friday’s game in differing form. The CFJs are unbeaten in six league games and beat the improving Trusted with rare goals from Fabricio Coloccini and Fabio Borini. The Artisans have won only one of their last five in the league and needed a clean from Federico Fernandez to grab a point against Kiran’s Wateringhole Society who led through Shinji Okazaki.

Nil Satis picked up their first win since week five when seeing off the Muppets. Second-half penalties from Oscar and Bojan doing the damage for Paul and Dan.
