Claymore’s serene progress to the title was upset a little bit this week. FCK2 led against Clive’s team inside a minute through Harry Kane’s studs and he added a second a quarter of an hour later. Even Andy Carroll got on the scoresheet when he fired home at the near post on the hour and Kevin and Jon’s side rounded out a 4-0 win. Clive will be relieved as his nearest challengers slipped up again. Athletico led against the Aardvarks through Riyad Mahrez but Robbie Brady equalised five minutes after the break and a Danny Rose clean got Ady the win. He’s only one point off second now.
Fred was also on the wrong end of a four goal beating this week. The Muppets dished it out after falling behind to Jermain Defoe’s goal a minute before the break. Sadio Mane got two and Alex Mitrovic added a late header followed by cleans from Koscielny and Aldeweireld to give Ryan one of his best days in a poor season. The CFJs are chasing a high finish to the season and Graziano Pelle scored his third in two games to give the Howells a late lead. This Final Fantasy side is an upgrade on the early season version and Angel Rangel’s clean grabbed a point for Ceri.
It was a good week for the Artisans and they registered a second big win, 4-0 over Trusted. Christian Eriksen and flukey Federico Fernandez on target again would you believe? San Dimas lost ground following a draw with Mega Bucks. Philippe Coutinho scored one of his trademark long-rangers on 17 minutes and I needed a Simon Mignolet saved penalty to get a point.
Cheese Makers are still pushing for their first top half finish. A great strike from Manuel Lanzini in the first half and a scruffy one from Troy Deeney four minutes from time were enough to beat YTFIB. The Wateringhole Society’s hopes of a top half spot are fading after a 1-1 draw against Nil Satis. A great run and finish from Marcus Rashford cancelled out by a Danny Simpson clean.
