FA Cup semi-final results

San Dimas High School 4 v 3 Real Muppets
The Fabulous Artisans 0 v 3 Trusted By Millions

Our FA Cup Final will be between San Dimas High School and Trusted By Millions.

San Dimas overcame a Kelechi Iheanacho hat-trick to beat the Muppets 4-3. Dwight McNeil’s brilliant curling shot put my team ahead on 24 minutes, Iheanacho prodded home from close in to level the game six minutes before the break. San Diams went 2-1 up on 64 minutes when Ayoze Perez fired in from 18 yards but parity was restored five minutes later with Iheanacho’s first-time effort. The Muppets led for the first tim 12 minutes from the end when Iheanacho rifled in to complete his treble. The tie turned on two cleans from San Dimas’ Joao Cancelo and Wesley Fofana that put me through 4-3.

It was more comfortable for Trusted who saw off the league-leading Artisans 3-0. An excellent Che Adams volley gave Beef the lead on 27 minutes and saw the teams turned round at 1-0. Two goals in a minute after the interval settled the game in Trusted'’s favour. First Leandro Trossard was put through, took a touch and fired in from 14 yards and then Gabriel Jesus was left unattended to round the keeper and score after the Artisans failed to clear their lines.

The date for the final will be announced in due course.

Ben’s lead is reduced to two points following this week’s matches. The Artisans needed a clean sheet from Ezgjan Alioski to earn a draw at Cheese Makers after Chris Wood’s first goal for his new club, getting in the way of a clearance to deflect in, looked like earning Matthew the win. Fred saw off Nil Satis 2-0 with a very early Bruno Fernades penalty and an Aaron Wan-Bissaka clean. The top two meet in week 22.

The Aardvarks are still six points back after a 1-1 drew at Mega Backs. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s near post shot squirmed past the keeper to give Dave the lead on six minutes and it took Ryan Bertrand’s clean for Ady to level the scores. The CFJs are one point behind the Aardvarks after seeing off YTFIB 5-1. Julian took the lead too, Jesse Lingard following up his saved penalty after 21 minutes. Gareth Bale tapped in four minutes later to get the Cows back on terms and a Ben Godfrey own goal had Chris and co ahead six minutes after that. Bale’s second four minutes after the break made it 3-1 and Vladimir Coufal and Jan Bednarek cleans finished the scoring.

A stunning half-volley from Che Adams on 49 minutes gave Trusted the win against San Dimas. The two teams meet in the Cup semi-final this week so Beef will carry all the momentum. After seven without a win Stanley finally ended that run with a 2-1 win at Claymore. Craig Dawson headed Aaron in front on 28 minutes and James Ward-Prowse made it two from the spot four minutes after that. Clive’s only response was an Aaron Cresswell clean.

The Wateringhole Society and Real Muppets played out a goalless draw. It’s the first time Kiran’s team have failed to trouble the scorers this season (I think). Markian have been getting closer to a good result in recent weeks and it finally all came together at Wheel Madrid. 0-0 at the break Luke Shaw burst forward, exchanged passes and found the bottom corner from the edge of the area on 50 minutes. Harry Kane added a brilliant goal two minutes later before Paul W pulled one back with Jorginho’s penalty. Kane added a simpler second with 14 minutes left then cleans by Shaw and Sam Johnstone rounded out the victory.

Two thirds of the way through the season and the Artisans continue to lead the league following a 3-0 win at YTFIB. Three clean sheets got the job done for Ben and they came from Kenny Tete, Lucas Digne and Kyle Walker from the bench. Fred is keeping pace, albeit four points behind, after beating the Muppets by the same score. Lucas Moura struck from eight yards just after the half hour, Pepe’s first of the season came on 52 minutes via a tap-in and an Aaron Wan-Bissaka clean completed the scoring.

The Aardvarks lost ground after only managing a 2-2 draw with San Dimas. Alexandre Lacazette converted a penalty in first half stoppage time and Jamal Lascelles’ near-post header seven minutes into the second period made it 2-0 to Ady. My team struck back late through cleans by Antonio Rudiger and Antonee Robinson. The CFJs are up to fourth after a 3-2 win over Mega Bucks. Gareth Bale got two for Chris and Co but Dave replied each time through Michail Antonio and Ruben Neves. Edouard Mendy’s clean was the winner for the Cows.

Champions Trusted are up to fifth, nine points behind after beating Claymore 3-2. Youri Tielemans and Richarlison swapped early goals to send it in 1-1 at the break. John Stones smart finish after 68 minutes put Clive in front and Beef needed cleans from Trent Alexander-Arnold and Serge Aurier to turn it round and get the win. The Wateringhole drop to sixth following a 3-1 loss to Cheese Makers. Anwar El Ghazi had Matthew ahead on five minutes after springing the Society offside line, Ruben Dias headed in the leveller for Kiran on half an hour. Curtis Jones first WSFFL goal put Matthew ahead three minutes after the break and Cheese went on to make it 4-1 thanks to Tyrone Mings and Tosin cleans.

Stanley Athletic seem to be suffering a bit of second season syndrome and they laboured to a 1-1 draw at Markian. Harry Kane’s deflected shot on 15 minutes looked like it might give Markian their first win since December but Ozan Kabak got Aaron’s equalising clean. Last game on Match of the Day this week was Wheel Madrid’s 1-0 win at Nil Satis, David Luiz stooped to head the only goal of the game six minutes before half-time and that was that to send Paul W home with the points.
