FA Cup semi-final results

Aardvark Abacus 1 v 5 Trusted By Millions
The Fabulous Artisans P v P Markian United

Trusted make their seventh FA Cup Final, a second in three years, with a comfortable 5-1 win over the Aardvarks. A close first half looked like going in goalless at the break but Alexander Isak stretched to volley Beef ahead in injury time. Seven minutes after the interval Joao Felix steered a shot into the far corner to double the lead and Jeffrey Schlupp made it three from close range just after the hour. Emi Buendia ended any faint comeback hopes with a header and and Isak added a fifth from the spot. Kieran Tierney picked up a consolation clean for the Aardvarks.

Beef will have to wait until April to find out his Final opponents as the Artisans/Markian tie was postponed due to oooh, lets say… Industrial action.

Rearranged game

The Fabulous Artisans 1 v 1 Markian United

And when the game did get on it was a tale of two penalties. Harry Kane gave Ian the lead from the spot on 68 minutes, Alexis Mac Allister kept his nerve to level on 90 minutes.

Markian United 1 v 3 The Fabulous Artisans

The Artisans make their second FA Cup Final after getting the better of Markian. Ben was two up at the break, Patrick Bamford’s header and Marc Guehi’s hooked finish doing the damage and though Harry Kane pulled one back for Ian with 11 minutes left Ben finished it off with a Craig Dawson clean. The Artisans will face Trusted for the Cup in the midweek of 25/26 April.

The CFJs' lead has stretched to seven points. Five or six wins from the last ten games may be enough for a third title for Chris and Co.

The Cows beat Nil Satis 2-0 with a header from Gabriel and a deflected shot from Miguel Almiron. The Wateringhole lost ground with a 1-1 draw at Mega Bucks where Jack Harrison scored for both teams. That led to Fred jumping back into second thanks to a 3-1 win at Cheese Makers. Gabriel Martinelli’s goal was quickly equalised by Philip Billing and the Gardeners’ cleans from Wan-Bissaka and Martinez delivered the points.

Markian were held by also in-form Trusted 2-2. Harry Kane scored twice either side of an Alexander Isak header and it was a clean from new signing Michael Keane that earned Beef a point. The Artisans are back in fifth after beating Wheel Madrid 4-0. Goals in the last 12 minutes of the first half from Mac Allister, Bamford and Odegaard did the main damage for Ben. The Aardvarks jumped over SGU into sixth with a 5-2 win over those opponents. The game was level at 2-2 just after the hour but Ady ran away with the game thanks to three clean sheets.

The Muppets edged Claymore 1-0 with an Erling Haaland penalty to pull three points away from those rivals. YTFIB are up to 13th after beating San Dimas 3-1. My first minute goal from Dwight McNeil eventually overrun by a Hwang equaliser and cleans from Williams and Godfrey.

Results at the top see the CFJs extend their lead to six points. Chris and Co. came from a goal down to beat the Muppets 3-1. Phil Foden’s solo run and (deflected) shot put Ryan in front after 15 minutes but that advantage was gone four minutes later when Brennan Johnson scored on the follow-up. It was Johnson who put the Cows in front 13 minutes from time finding the top corner from 15 yards. Danny Welbeck rounded out the win with his first of the season with a shot from the edge of the area. The Wateringhole are second and also had to come from behind to get past the Cheese Makers 3-2. Matthew was ahead inside 10 seconds when an unmarked Philip Billing converted from seven yards and new signing Manor Solomon headed home to make it 2-0 before the break. Ivan Toney pulled one back from the spot eight minutes into the second half and Kaoru Mitoma slid in the equaliser on 69 minutes. Kiran’s winner came courtesy of an Ezra Konsa clean.

Fred dropped to third after 3-2 defeat to Markian. Darwin Nunez headed Ian in front just after the interval and Thomas Partey scored from close range to double the lead. Mohamed Salah lashed in off the bar to pull one back before a clever Nunez back-header restored the two goal advantage. Salah reduced the deficit with seven minutes left but Markian held on. The mid-table washing machine stopped with Stanley and Gracie on top of the pile this week. Aaron has got Ben Chilwell and Virgil van Dijk back from injury and they got the cleans that beat Wheel Madrid 2-0.

The Artisans drop to sixth after a 2-1 defeat to San Dimas. Alex Mac Allister put Ben ahead from the spot on 18 minutes but it was my returning player Wesley Fofana who was San Dimas’ game winner with a header from a corner and a clean sheet. The Aardvarks are eighth after a 3-1 defeat to Claymore. Danny Ward made a penalty save to put Clive in front and Claymore doubled their lead through Joel Veltman’s chested finish. Ben White struck from the edge of the six yard area to pull one back but Matty Cash got the clean to confirm the win.

Mega Bucks picked up a 1-1 draw at Trusted to get them off the bottom of the table. Bernardo Silva stretched to open the scoring for Beef after 67 minutes and it was a Nathan Ake clean that earned a point for Dave. YTFIB are going through one of their poor runs and went down 1-0 to Nil Satis. Demarai Gray’s penalty the only score of the game securing the win for Paul S.
