Trusted are our first leaders of the season. Beef’s had trouble keeping his strikers fit in recent seasons and with Gabriel Jesus sidelined again he was relying on Ruben Diaz and Alexander Isak in his opener at Nil Satis. It went well. Sandro Tonali had given Paul S the lead on six minutes but both of the Trusted frontmen were on the scoresheet 12 minutes later. Isak latched onto a defensive mistake to make it 3-1 just before the hour and a Jeffrey Schlupp clean made it 4-1 and top of the table for Trusted. The Artisans are next best (on counters) after beating Harry Kane-less Markian 3-1. A measured volley from new signing Moussa Diaby gave Ben the lead, Eddie Nketiah’s deflected shot doubled the advantage before the break. Rodri pulled one back with 15 minutes left but Kenny Tete’s clean restored the advantage.

Erling Haaland started where he left off with a brace for Ryan in a 3-1 win at the Wateringhole. In between those goals was a strike of the season contender from Bukayo Saka for Kiran but the last score was an early clean from Jurrien Timber to complete the win. That’s the end of the Muppets good news though. Kevin De Bruyne is out for months and there are injury concerns over Timber too. Wheel Madrid came from two down to beat the CFJs 3-2. All looked good for the Cows with Odsonne Edouard adding to Yoan Wissa’s first half goal but the game shifted Paul’s way with two goals in a minute. Raphael Varane headed in on 76 minutes, Callum Wilson lifted over the keeper soon after. Varane’s clean was the winner (and has him joint top if the scoring chart!)

Champions Fred West start with a win too, 2-1 at the Aardvarks. Cristian Romero headed the Gardners ahead on 11 minutes and was subbed almost straight away with suspected concussion. Ady’s new defender Axel Disasi converted off his thigh to level before the break but it was a late breakaway goal from Taiwo Awoniyi that gave the champions the winner. Cheese Makers were also 2-1 winners, at San Dimas. Matthew’s goals came from spot kicks through Bryan Mbeumo in the first half and Joao Pedro in the second. Tyrick Mitchell’s clean for me came too late.

A late Dominic Solanke goal gave Stanley and Gracie the points against Claymore. Solanke rounded Clive’s keeper with eight minutes left to get the only goal of the game and leaves Clive’s team the only one not to trouble the scorers. Mega Bucks and YTFIB played out a 1-1 draw. Solly March headed Julian in front after 36 minutes, Carlton Morris converted an 81st minute penalty to grab Dave a point.
