Report

Clive’s wait to complete the WSFFL ‘Grand Slam’ goes on. It was a great start from the Swordsmen too, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall racing through a static San Dimas back line to fire his team ahead in four minutes. The game turned in seven minutes before half-time. Claymore sub Wout Fees scoring two own goals to send my team in with the lead.

An early clean from Hugo Bueno made it 3-1 and an 88th minute Joao Palhinha back-post header from a corner appeared to make it safe. Clive’s team had a chance to reduce the deficit in injury time but Aleksandar Mitrovic couldn’t convert a penalty and cleans from Robin Olsen and Dan Burn made it a comprehensive San Dimas win.

The CFJs lost their first league game of the season, 3-1 to San Dimas. The Cows were ahead on 36 minutes through Eberechi Eze but my team turned it round late with a Joao Palhinha header and cleans from Robin Olsen and Dan Burn.

The teams in second to fourth all won to close the gap. Fred saw off Mega Bucks 2-0 with a Gabriel Martinelli goal and a Tyrell Malacia clean. The Artisans went one better against the Aardvarks. First half-goals from Raheem Sterling and Martin Odegaard had them in charge at the break and Eddie Nketiah’s goal two minutes after the restart finished the scoring. The Wateringhole got four against fifth-placed Trusted. Bukayo Saka and Ivan Toney had Kiran 2-0 up inside twenty minutes. Beef hit back through Emi Buendia just after the break but two more Wateringhole goals, Kaoru Mitoma and Marcus Rashford on target, finished the game 4-1.

Wheel Madrid are up to sixth after a goalless draw with YTFIB. Markian are a place and a point behind after a four clean sheet win against Cheese Makers. Matthew looking for February reinforcements more than most. Clive’s rotten week started with a 5-1 defeat to Nil Satis. Wout Fees contributed two own goals but Demarai Gray’s stunner for Paul was a goal of the month contender. Stanley and Gracie are also on 16 points after an excellent 4-2 win at the Muppets. Ryan was two up too, through Erling Haaland (of course) and a James Ward-Prowse own goal. Ward-Prowse scored a brilliant free-kick to pull one back and SGU got the win with three clean sheets.

Report

The Muppets claim the PCMT for the third time in six seasons and the fourth in all with a comeback win against YTFIB. Julian's improving team took the lead just after the half-hour when Bobby Decordova-Reid glanced in a header and they took that advantage into the break.

Six minutes after half-time Ryan's team were level. WSFFL record-signing Erling Haaland couldn't miss after the Muppets latched on to a defensive blunder. YTFIB weren't deterred by the setback though, Solly March hitting a 25-yard screamer into the top corner just five minutes later.

Haaland soon scored a second equaliser, being given too much space for a first-time finish from 12 yards and this time his team were on top and the game was settled with a clean sheet from Kalidou Koulibaly. £97m of talent on the scoresheet proving too much in the end for a squad worth not much more than half that.

Report

Claymore and San Dimas will have to try again to decide this season's Charity Shield winners after a 2-2 draw.

It was first blood to Clive on 22 minutes when Daniel Podence guided in first-time after a cleverly-worked set-piece but my team were level ten minutes later when Joelinton powered in a header. He has a habit of scoring against his former employers.

Three minutes later The Saints were in front. Romain Perraud got himself in a pickle in front of his own goal and bundled in. That's how it stayed until ten minutes from time when Aleksandar Mitrovic was left alone to place a header in and force the replay.
