The season in numbers

20,000,000 - The biggest expenditure on a single player this season. By the Muppets for Thomas Vermaelen. Looks a very good signing.

19,000,000 - Oh dear. The amount that the Parrots spent on Gareth Barry. One league and one cup goal is all he has to show for it. I can't remember who bid £18m but I bet they're relieved!

18,000,000 - And to show I'm not immune from criticism, that's how much I spent on Roque Santa Cruz.

1024 - The number of emails in my WSFFL mailbox at time of writing.

302 - The number of players who made contributions (goals, cleans and saved penalties) in WSFFL competitions.

123 - The number of contributions for Boston Rock. That's 11 more than their nearest rivals (the Muppets).

29 - The number of own goals in all competitions. Extraordinary.

20 - League goals scored by Carlos Tevez, making him our player of the season. (More end of season awards and reviews at http://blogspot.com over the next few weeks)

13 - The number of times Aardvark Abacus played in the most lucrative match of the week (the most). Claymore and San Dimas were the only teams not to feature in the game of the week.

12 - The number of managers still to tell me whether they're continuing in the game next season. (Perhaps not many people read to the end of the round-up this week!)

6 - The number of teams that led the league at some point this season. Boston Rock, Aardvark and Nil Satis all clocked up eight weeks, Fred three, the Muppets two and the Artisans one.

5 - The number of defeats for Boston Rock in all competitions. 5-4 to Nil Satis (wk 5), 4-1 to Claymore (wk 8), 4-1 to the Parrots (wk 14), 3-2 to the Artisans (wk 18), 1-0 to the Muppets (wk 19)

3 - The number of teams not to pick up a MOTM award. San Dimas, Parrots and York's if you were wondering.

1 - The number of games in which Boston Rock failed to trouble the scorers.

0 - The number of goals scored in WSFFL competitions by James Beattie, David Bentley, Benni McCarthy, Roman Pavlyuchenko and Jason Roberts amongst others.
