We'll start by looking at the re-scheduled week 26 games. Sheriff was a bit peeved at the game being postponed from the previous week and his team tore into Trusted and Scott Sinclair curled in an excellent goal on six minutes. Papiss Cisse stemmed the Boston Rock tide when he steered home on 18 minutes but the momentum didn't shift and Boston Rock brought home the points with two clean sheets. In the other week 26 game Nikica Jelavic twice equalised Yohan Cabaye goals but Danny Simpson's clean gave Matthew the nod over Nil Satis.

To week 27 then and with Claymore the only team in the top six winning Clive has taken a lead in the title race. His team took the Evertonian Derby 6-2 with Sergio Aguero and Wayne Rooney (with another brace) both on target again. Paul's Nikica Jelavic scored twice to try to stem the tide but Clive had three clean sheets to put a gloss on the result. Claymore are seven points from the title. Trusted failed to bounce back from their Boston Rock defeat and went down to a shock loss to York's by the same 3-1 scoreline. Papiss Cisse notched again to give Beef the lead but Samir Nasri equalised with 15 minutes to go and then cleans from Anton Ferdinand and Martin Olsson stuck a hole in Beef's title charge.

There was a surprise defeat for the Artisans too which has damaged Ben's title chances. The Parrots were the winners at Goddard Stadium with Adel Taarabt opening the scoring from a free-kick for Dean. Junior Hoilett levelled the match just after the break with an excellent shot from outside the area but Emerson Boyce grabbed the winer for the Parrots with a long-distance effort eight minutes later. After dealing Trusted's title ambitions a blow Boston Rock stuck a stick in the Aardvarks' title spokes too. Scott Sinclair scored another screamer early on but Sheriff's team were unable to make any more dents in Ady's armour-plated defence and Carlos Cuellar grabbed a late equaliser. That's four draw out of five for Ady's team, if two of those had been turned into wins he'd be joint top.

The stuffing seems to have been knocked out of Athletico Phoenix now that their title challenge has collapsed and Brian's team suffered another defeat. This time it was to a Joleon Lescott clean sheet and the Muppets carry on their long-awaited recovery. Amazingly Brian's place in the top half isn't quite secure. What a curious season it has been! The Cow-Faced Juniors continue their hot streak with a narrow clean sheet victory over Final Fantasy making it 19 points out of the last 21 for Chris.

San Dimas are another team who must have thought they had one foot in the top half but they're back under pressure. My team lost to one of my top half rivals in the Cheese Makers with Yohan Cabaye scoring twice again for Matthew's team. Fred West are still scrapping for a top half finish and two goals in four second-half minutes beat Mega Bucks. Danny Welbeck's excellent piece of close control and fierce shot broke the deadlock and then Welbeck teed up Nani from close range on the hour. Dave's team look consigned to the bottom spot for the first time in their once illustrious history.

Two wins should do it! My goal difference is worth a point! I'm not counting my chickens though!!!!
