The top spot has been slippery in recent weeks but Claymore managed to hang on. Just. Clive's team had a straightforward win over the Parrots through a Leon Osman goal and a Gael Clichy clean but the boss of the Swordsmen would have had an ear on the CFJs scoreline as Chris looked to take over at the top. The Fabulous Artisans were ahead on eight minutes when Ivan Ramis lashed home a sensational volley but the CFJs were 3-1 up just 12 minutes later. Leighton Baines scored an unfortunate own goal on 14 minutes, Gareth Bale headed Chris in front a minute later and Luis Suarez also found the net with a header on 20 minutes. Christian Benteke got his first WSFFL goal to reduce the deficit but Clint Dempsey had made it 4-2 before the break. It looked like Chris might find the goals to lead the league on goal difference but he only added one more clean and Claymore hang on by virtue of goals scored.

Final Fantasy are third but a sixth victory of the season eluded Ceri. Demba Ba volleyed Final Fantasy ahead on 35 minutes but Ceri's team couldn't put YTFIB away and Dimitar Berbatov was given too much room to control and strike the equaliser for Julian. Athletico Phoenix are fourth but lost ground after falling 3-1 to Trusted. Robin van Persie fired Brian in front after 12 minutes but Beef's team hit back after the break. Javier Hernandez evaded an offside flag to get the equaliser 15 minutes from time and James Tomkins nodded Beef ahead and Papiss Cisse's lucky deflection added a third as time ran out. Robert Huth made it 4-1 with a clean and you get the feeling Trusted's season is up and running at last.

In a fairly low-scoring week two games were settled by the only goal. Real Muppets overtook Boston Rock thanks to a long-range Carlos Tevez effort on the hour. While Jack Wilshere made his long-awaited return for Sheriff he's now lost Micah Richards for a couple of months. At the Stade de Fromage the home team edged out San Dimas by a single strike. Juan Mata scored an excellent free-kick just before the break to give the points to Matthew and send his team into the top half.

Nil Satis have their first points on the board after beating the Aardvarks 2-1. Steven Naismith opened his WSFFL account ten minutes before half-time and Mikel Arteta doubled the advantage with six minutes left. Vincent Kompany pulled a clean sheet back but it's all going wrong for Ady right now. The last game on Match of the Day this week was the goalless draw between Mega Bucks and Fred. The only event of note was Fernando Torres' sending-off when he picked up a second yellow for a dive. (Or was it? He did get caught but why did his other leg collapse first?)
