No sooner do the chasers close the gap than Fred opens it again. Our long-time leader broke the resistance of Wheel Madrid with two goals in a ten minute spell, from Leroy Sane and Dele Alli, after the break. Trusted are up to second and looking the most credible challengers at the moment. Beef’s team cruised to a 5-0 win at YTFIB and I’ll single out Gary Cahill as MOTM with a late goal and a clean.

The Muppets slipped a place after losing at the Phoenix. Ryan’s team led twice but ultimately cleans from Ashley Williams and Cedric Soares delivered Brian the points. The scrap at the bottom of the table has got interesting, not least with the Wateringhole Society picking up a win at Stade de Fromage. Juan Mata’s own goal and Jonathan Calleri’s first for Kiran took his team out of reach of Matthew’s team.

I’d got to half-time 0-0 at the CFJs but conceded six in the second half. Fernando Llorente bagged another two and regular scorers Sanchez and Sigurdsson were also on target. The Artisans sneak into the top half after winning at Nil Satis. Roberto Firmino scored twice for Ben before Seamus Coleman could reply for Paul. His team are getting dragged into the battle at the bottom.

The Aardvarks must be looking over their shoulders too (if Aardvarks have shoulders). Ady’s team went down 2-1 to an Andy Carroll brace and a second straight FCK2 win. Clive’s win over Mega Bucks drags Dave into the bottom of the table equation. A late penalty from Dusan Tadic and a Joel Robles clean edging Claymore over the line.

Fred hangs on to top spot on goal difference despite defeat to San Dimas. Romelu Lukaku’s calm sidefoot put me in front but parity was restored six minutes later when Jermain Defoe outpaced my defence to equalise. With no further goals it was down to Fabio to get the winning clean for my side. The Muppets join Fred on 33 points after turning round a 3-0 deficit to beat YTFIB 4-3. Julian looked on for all the points After James Milner, Peter Crouch and Zlatan scored but Ryan had four cleans, one from each of his defenders, to seal the win.

Wheel Madrid’s winning run crashed and burned at home to Nil Satis. Marcos Alonso’s looking a very good signing and scored either side of Gareth McAuley deflecting into his own net. The in-form Pedro completed the scoring. Trusted missed a chance to go top going down at home to Cheese Makers. Junior Stanislas gave Matthew the lead from the spot on three minutes but the second was a long time coming. Manuel Lanzini calmly dinked over the keeper in a one-on-one with four minutes left. A Ben Mee clean wasn’t enough for Beef.

The Phoenix and Mega Bucks have been struggling lately so perhaps it wasn’t a huge surprise to see that one end nil-nil. Also not a surprise to see the Wateringhole Society draw again. With the Aardvarks this time. The league record is 11 in a season, Kiran has hit seven already, this time thanks to two goals through an unlikely Abel Hernandez equalised by two Ady cleans by Monreal and Reid.

Claymore win! Just the one goal in their game against the Artisans courtesy of Olivier Giroud being given far too much room to slam home for six yards. FCK2 have any number of problems but when their strikers are firing they aren’t one. With the scores level with a quarter of an hour left against the CFJs Harry Kane completed a hat-trick and Andy Carroll scored an incredible scissor kick to give Kevin’s team a rare win.
