Five points ahead, six games to go. The CFJs close in on their second title following a 4-0 thrashing of Markian. A goal and a clean from Shkodran Mustafi among the highlights. Bigger problems for Markian are the injuries to Kane and Sigurdsson. The Aardvarks are the closest pursuers after an astonishing game against the Wateringhole Society. Kiran was four nil up inside half an hour with Kenedy and Rashford scoring two each. Ady’s struck back in the last half hour, two goals from Son, one from Tosun, a saved penalty from Cech and a clean from Kompany turning things round.
The Muppets stay third after a comeback of their own. OK, that was only 1-0 down to the Phoenix but Ryan pulled out four clean sheets at the death. Fred, behind Ryan on goal difference, was also behind (against Cheese Makers) but not for long. Stanislas opened the scoring for Matthew on seven minutes, Rondon equalised a minute later and Dele Alli won it with his 35th minute strike.
David Silva put San Dimas two ahead with his brace but Trusted were back level thanks to own goals from Bailly and Bong. Ashley Barnes screamer eventually won the game for me. The Artisans are sixth but needed a clean to get a point off Mega Bucks after Aubameyang reduced his pounds per goal ratio from 58m to 29m.
Claymore can kiss a top three finish goodbye after losing to bluenose rivals Nil Satis. Mkhitaryan opened the scoring for Paul S on 77 minutes but Clive levelled in injury time when Aurier popped up on the left to equalise. The win came when Seamus Coleman got his first clean of the season for Nil Satis. YTFIB are still eyeing a rare top ten finish after beating Wheel Madrid 3-2. Paul W looked to have this under control thanks to goals from Ritchie and Vardy but Iborra got one back in stoppage time and Pope and Olsson provided the winning cleans.
