Leaders the Artisans had a fright at YTFIB but came through 2-1. Ricardo Pereira’s excellent solo goal had Julian ahead for the best part of an hour until a goalkeeping blunder saw Gini Wijnaldum’s weak shot slip through. Ben’s team went on to win thanks to Patrick van Aanholt’s clean. The Artisans’ lead is now three points after the Muppets edged out San Dimas 2-1. Luka Milivojevic opened the scoring for Ryan from the spot but my team were level when Riyad Mahrez arrowed a free-kick into the bottom corner with 19 minutes left. Raheem Sterling got the Muppets’ winner, slamming in off the crossbar in the 84th minute.

High-scoring Claymore climbed to fourth but needed a bit of help against the CFJs. An unlucky Daryl Janmaat own goal on the hour but Clive ahead and he rounded out a 3-0 win courtesy of cleans by Gary Cahill and Jonny Evans. Wheel Madrid have really hit their stride lately and stuck five past Athletico. All the goals came in the second half. Callum Wilson opened the scoring for Paul W and within twenty minutes he was four up thanks to a Jorginho penalty and two more from Jamie Vardy. John McGinn’s volley made it five before Brian’s consolation came from Chris Wood.

Trusted’s unbeaten league start fell to Nil Satis. Paul S was two up in 20 minutes, Andriy Yarmolenko and Matt Doherty with the goals. A stooping header from Gabriel Jesus brought Beef back into it but Dominic Calvert-Lewin threw himself at a goal bound effort to restore the advantage before half-time. The next goal came in second half injury time. Andros Townsend for Nil Satis snuffed out any hopes of a comeback. Cheese Makes join Trusted on nine points after beating Markian 3-1. Anwar El Ghazi’s strike for Matthew had been cancelled out by Harry Kane’s shot on the turn by the break, the Cheesers clinched the points through cleans form Andrew Robertson and Jonny Castro.

Mega Bucks added to Fred’s early season woes with a two goal win. Josh King looked offside when he scored the opener but a VAR check rightly gave the goal. There was a similar incident in the second half. P-E Aubameyang was flagged offside, scored calmly, and the goal was given after a look by some people with a computer hundreds of miles away. The Aardvarks picked up their first win of the league season, Tanguy Ndombele lashed in for the only goal of the game for Ady to beat the Wateringhole Society.
