The Artisans take over at the top after their 6-1 win over Markian while the Wateringhole were held to a goalless draw by the CFJs. Ian must have feared the worst when Adam Armstrong crashed in a left-footed volley in the third minute but was back on terms at half-time thanks to Ben Foster’s penalty save. The worst happened in the second half. Emile Smith Rowe put the Artisans back in front with a first time shot from the edge of the box after 56 minutes and clean sheets from Kyle Walker, Aaron Ramsdale, Marc Guehi and Mohammed Salisu followed. It’s seven league wins in a row for Ben. But three without a win for Kiran after his draw with the Cows. Harvey Barnes was left sat on the bench wondering if it might have been the day when he scored one of the best goals of his career. We’ll never know.

Claymore are third but went down 5-2 to fourth-placed Trusted. Leandro Trossard’s penalty and Raphinha’s free kick had Beef two up inside 26 minutes before Teemu Pukki replied from the spot for Clive three minutes later. Trent Alexander-Arnold’s brilliant free-kick restored the lead by half-time then Pablo Formals and former Swordsman Connor Gallagher completed the set of scoring midfielders for Beef and put him 5-1 up. John Stones’ clean was just a consolation. Cleans from Nuno Tavares and Joao Cancelo gave me a 2-0 win against Ady and puts me sixth.

The Muppets are on the same points as San Dimas in seventh place after edging Mega Bucks 2-1. Ryan has goalkeepers to thank for this win. Allison gloved into his own net on four minutes to put the Muppets ahead and Ederson’s clean gave his team the win after Wilfried Zaha had equalised for Dave on the hour. Stanley Athletic round out the top half after beating Wheel Madrid 2-0. A Kai Havertz free header opened the scoring after 33 minutes and Aaron closed out the win with an Alex McCarthy clean.

Champions Fred West slipped further behind after a 2-1 defeat to Cheese Makers. Kurt Zouma’s excellent far post header on 74 minutes looked to have won the points for the Gardeners but Matthew turned it round with cleans from Eric Dier and Joel Ward. Nil Satis notched up their third win of the campaign with a 1-0 win over YTFIB. Paul has a Seamus Coleman clean to thank for that particular three points.
