Contrasting results for last week’s top two. Trusted now lead the league after one of the season’s best performances in a 6-0 drubbing of Mega Bucks. Emmanuel Dennis opened the scoring on 24 minutes with a powerful header and Raphinha doubled the lead from the spot four minutes later. Conor Gallagher made it three four minutes before the break and the midfielder got Beef’s last goal three minutes into second half injury time, picking out the top corner from the edge of the area. Ben Mee and Alex Telles got the cleans to round out the win.
It was a different story for the Wateringhole Society who went down 5-0 at home to Claymore. Youri Tielemans opened the scoring with a penalty seven minutes before the break but it got worse for Kiran with the daft sending-off of Raul Jimenez before half-time. Clive’s team ran away with it in the second half. Cristiano Ronaldo scored from the spot with 15 minutes to go, then Youri Tielemans smashed into the roof of the net, Joe Gelhardt scored his first WSFFL goal and Eric Bailly notched his first clean for his new club to send Clive third.
Stanley are back up to fourth after getting the better of San Dimas 2-0. A tight game was settled in Aaron’s favour by clean sheets from Virgil van Dijk and Harry Maguire. My team are fifth, one place above the CFJs who beat struggling YTFIB 3-0. Gabriel headed in just after the hour to put the Cows ahead and Aymeric Laporte and Vladimir Coufal added cleans. Also on 22 points are the faltering Artisans who went down 3-2 to Wheel Madrid. Ben was two up at the break too courtesy of a Martin Odegaard header and a sweeping near post Mason Mount finish. It turned round after half-time with Jorginho pulling one back from the spot for Paul W then James Maddison picked out the far corner to level with five minutes left before Jorginho converted his second penalty deep into injury time to take all the points.
Cheese Makers win streak came to an end, but their unbeaten run goes on after a 1-1 draw with the Muppets. Patson Daka put Ryan ahead on 57 minutes after a team move that sliced through the Cheese like a hot knife through Boursin. The equaliser came six minutes into injury time with Bryan Mbeumo the coolest man in Le Stade to slot home a penalty. Nil Satis kept their good run going with a 1-0 win over Markian. Grant Hanley got the game’s only clean after just 21 minutes. Just 18,065 made it to the Aardvark Abacus Aldi Arena to see the home side beat old rivals Fred 3-1. Alexandre Lacazette put Ady ahead on 21 minutes after a great team move but Fred got back on terms with a Mohamed Salah penalty midway through the second period. The home fans went home happy though as Kieran Tierney and Ben White got the cleans to deliver the win.
