2015/16 Co-Ord Round-up Part Two - Transfer dealings

How much fake money was spent on player deals last season?

Income

The total of almost £409m was down on last year's record but still one of our top three since I've been keeping track of this stuff. (2006/07 was the first year I have records.)

Three teams saw transfer receipts of over £50m and two more over £35m.

Expenditure

I'd thought it was a bit of a quieter year but a total of almost £555m is the second highest and only beaten by last year's record total.

It was fairly well spread but one team did blow £75.5m and two more almost £60m. At the other end of the scale three teams didn't outlay over £11m on players.

Business

After four successive seasons of declining losses that number was up this season, but only by £6m. Total transfer losses by our clubs totalling £146m. There are signs that teams are cutting their cloth according to their bank balances as only two teams turned in losses of over £20m.

One team made a profit (of less than £5m) while eight more's losses didn't exceed £10m.

Our ten season figures now show that every team is running at a loss of between £80m and £125m over that period. Is that kind of interesting or is it me?
