Match Report

After the exciting first game Wembley was packed out for the replay. Fernando Llorente missed a great chance to win the first game in injury time but the Spaniard opened the scoring for the CFJs on 29 minutes. OK his header hit him on the shoulder on the way in but they all count. There was no more scoring in the first half and it took 21 minutes of the second to find an equaliser.

Solomon Rondon hadn’t found the target since last December but his sharp turn and finish brought the game level. Fred took the lead on 78 minutes. A Craig Dawson flying header far too strong for the CFJs rear guard. The next goal was going to be crucial and it came from the holders. Two minutes into injury time Jermain Defoe got his 15th of the season (his first for three months) bundling in from close range to make it 3-1. Cleans from Azpilicueta and Mawson rounded the day off and completed the league’s second treble.
