The CFJs turn at the top lasted just one week. The Artisans took down Chris and co with Christian Eriksen finding too much space on the break and making no mistake from the edge of the box. Christian Benteke could have made it two from the spot in injury time but his effort was hopeless. That defeat gave the Muppets the chance to go back to the top and Ryan didn’t turn it down winning 3-1 at Mega Bucks. Charlie Austin had Dave in front on three minutes but two goals from one of the Muppets’ lesser lights, Steve Mounie, put Ryan in control and a Steven Ward clean finished the scoring.

The Aardvarks are just three points behind the top two after beating lowly Wheel Madrid. Level at the break, Son Heung-Min broke the deadlock after a great run and Winston Reid finished it with a clean. San Dimas lost ground after being hammered at YTFIB. Jermain Defoe hasn’t done much in the way of repaying his transfer fee but got a brace for Julian (his second is an amazing volleyed finish from an angle) and Nick Pope and Martin Olsson got cleans.

Fred beat Nil Satis 3-0 to creep into the fringes of the title race. A brilliant goal from Mo Salah just before the break, Wilfried Bony’s first of the season late in the game and Alfie Mawson’s clean seeing off Paul S. Trusted lost a bit more ground after defeat at Stade de Fromage. An unlucky Ryan Shawcross own goal gave Cheese the lead but in the second period Nicolas Otamendi and Shawcross scored from set pieces to put Trusted in front. Kyle Naughton and Tommy Smith’s cleans for Matthew gave him the points.

It’s three wins in a row for Athletico after they edged Markian 3-2. Marko Arnautovic opened his Phoenix account on six minutes and Riyad Mahrez doubled the lead from long range on 20 minutes. Harry Kane (who else?) pulled one back ten minutes into the second half but a deflected Demarai Gray shot restored Brian’s advantage. Kane scored again with 22 minutes left but there was to be no equaliser. The Wateringhole Society have got a 2 in the W column after beating Claymore. Joselu arrived in the box with perfect timing to fire the Society on front on four minutes and Marcus Rashford capitalised on some poor Claymore defending to make it two just before the break. Wayne Rooney’s penalty pulled one back but new signing Phil Bardsley got the clean to give Kiran the points.
