The CFJs survived a scare against Wheel Madrid to stretch their lead to four points. Paul had led very early, through Jamie Vardy, and very late through a Jay Rodriguez penalty but cleans from Duffy, Schindler, and ‘keeper Wayne Hennessy. Gave Chris and Co. the win. The lead is four because the Muppets were held by Cheese Makers. Ryan Fraser’s brace, either side of Laurent Koscielny limping off with a clean, came within a couple of minutes of winning the game until Ederson’s penalty save in injury time made it a draw.

Wins for the Aardvarks and San Dimas mean those teams take those teams to within four points of second. Ady’s team left it late against Trusted. A screamer from Son with six minutes left broke the deadlock and Jamal Lascelles finished it with a clean. For my team it was an early header from Antonio Rudiger that kept Markian at bay until the same player and Gaetan Bong added cleans.

The defending champs Fred are up to fifth after edging Claymore 3-2. Andre Carrillo nodded in a rebound on 11 minutes to give Clive the lead but a Mo Salah brace had Fred in front with 15 minutes left. Davide Zappacosta’s long-ranger got Claymore back on terms with two minutes left but Eliaquim Mangala’s clean delivered Fred the points. The Artisans were held to a goalless draw by YTFIB which drops Ben’s team to sixth and keeps Julian on the fringes of the top half.

The Phoenix occupy the last place in the top half but they too were held 0-0, the Wateringhole Society were their opponents and are now five points adrift. That’s because Nil Satis won their first league game since week 12. They saw off Mega Bucks with a goal from Pedro and a clean from Marcos Alonso.
