t’s ten points from top to third with the second-placed team now with a six point buffer. The CFJs are four clear at the top after edging Nil Satis 1-0 thanks to a Ben Davies clean. Those two teams must be sick of the sight of each other. The Muppets saw off Wheel Madrid 4-1 to stay second. Goalless at half-time Hector Bellerin outpaced the Wheels defence to slam home on 52 minutes and Sadio Mane ripped one into the top corner to double the lead nine minutes later. Paul’s team got back in the game when Callum Wilson raced on to a cross-field ball with 20 minutes left but cleans from Christensen and Kelly got Ryan the points.

Defeats for the Aardvarks and San Dimas see Fred up to third. The champs swamped YTFIB 7-1 (after me praising Julian’s season so far!) Leroy Sane smashed in at the near post to open the scoring five minutes before the break, Craig Dawson headed in ten minutes after half time and Mo Salah planted a long-ranger into an empty net on 68 minutes. YTFIB got one back in injury time through Ilkay Gundogan before Fred reeled out four clean sheets. Claymore are just three points off third after beating Ady’s team. Jonny Evans got Clive off the mark with a header after just four minutes but Ady was level on 26 minutes when Son Heung Min was left alone to convert from close range. Claymore were back in front in the last minute when Abdoulaye Doucoure ‘appeared’ to handle in. With Ady apoplectic with rage Evans got a clean sheet to make it 3-1.

San Dimas lost by the same score, to Mega Bucks. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain Drove at the defence and fired in on 9 minutes and Antonio Valencia doubled Dave’s lead straight away with a curling effort from the edge of the area. A defensive calamity let Mark Noble in to make it three on 25 minutes and my only reply came from Romelu Lukaku with 18 minutes left. The Artisans are seventh but lost 4-2 to Trusted. Andrey Gray for Beef and Roberto Firmino for Ben traded goals just before the hour but Ben was ahead with nine minutes left when Christian Eriksen whipped in to finish a fine team move. That lead only lasted three minutes before Bernardo Silva scored at the back post and cleans from Cahill, Mee and Jones saw Beef back to winning ways.

Athletico beat Cheese Makers in the Cup last week and did it again in the league. 2-1 to Brian last week became 5-2 this week. Manuel Lanzini got a brace for Matthew between goals from Marko Arnautovic and Jordan Ayew but cleans from Vertonghen, Tomkins and Maguire got the job done for Brian. The Wateringhole Society will be glad to see the back of Markian United. Beaten 4-0 in the Cup last week, Kiran’s team went down 6-0 this week. A couple of tap-ins rom Harry Kane in the second half were followed up by four clean sheets.
