We have new leaders in the shape of Nil Satis after defeats of the previous top two (more of which in a bit.) Paul S’ team took the lead against Cheese Makers three minutes after half-time when a hopeful ball from Stuart Dallas missed everyone and found the net. Matthew turned the game round inside 15 minutes thanks to goals from Danny Ings and Tyrone Mings and it took until injury time for Nil Satis to get back on terms. Red-hot striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin poked in and then a Patricio clean secured the lead and all the points. Matthew is off the bottom but possibly without Danny Ings for six weeks. Wheel Madrid jumped to sixth after being the Aardvarks 4-2, the game catching fire ten minutes into the second half when Callum Wilson scored from the spot.Jamie Vardy doubled the lead after 76 minutes then Wilson made it three at the far post with six minutes to go but the Aardvarks hit back straight away through Diogo Jota. Ollie Watkins converted a penalty for Ady three minutes into injury time to pull it back to 3-2 but there was a still time for Jack Grealish to strike from long range to make it 4-2 for Paul W.
Mega Bucks lost their unbeaten record, going down 3-1 to Fred. Mo Salah’s penalty set the Gardeners on their way just before the break and a thumping header from Kurt Zouma doubled the lead. P-E Aubameyang reduced the deficit with a penalty for Dave but Zouma’s clean made it 3-1 and lifts Fred to eleventh. Stanley Athletic are up to a dangerous-looking fourth place after beating Trusted 3-1. Last year’s champions led through Pablo Fornals after 10 minutes but two direct free-kicks from James Ward-Prowse made it 2-1 to Aaron at the break. Timo Werner’s goal 20 minutes from time ended the scoring and sees Beef’s team prop up the table.
The Wateringhole are fifth after seeing off San Dimas 2-0. Harvey Barnes was teed up to open the scoring from close range after two minutes and the next score was when Ruben Dias’ clean made it 2-0. The CFJs ended Markian’s excellent run in style. Harry Kane’s early penalty seemed to confirm Ian’s recent form but a debut goal from Rayan Ait-Nouri levelled the game five minutes later. It was 2-1 to Markian on 20 minutes thanks to Jannik Westergaard’s header but 2-2 at the break when Jan Bednarek claimed an early clean. Chris and Co led for the first time on 73 minutes with Gareth Bale’s first goal of his second spell in WSFFL then the sky fell in on Markian courtesy of cleans from Mendy, Laporte, Ait-Nouru and Kilman.
It was cleans all the way in the Muppets’ 3-0 win over YTFIB. Emerson, Bellerin and James with the counters for Ryan, Julian not able to find last season’s good form yet. Claymore beat the Artisans 4-1 to leapfrog those opponents in the table. Four goals in eight minutes set the tone in this game. Youri Tielemans, Hakim Ziyech and Daniel Podence had fired Clive into a 3-0 lead by the 27th minute before Kyle Walker pulled one back with a long-range daisy-cutter a minute later. Ben’s team could make no further inroads in the Claymore advantage and Tiielemans added a second from the spot in injury time.
