After I finally got the Artisans/Fred score right it was good news for the chasing pack. Fred led twice in the top of the table clash, Mo Salah rolling in the opener after shrugging off Ben’s defence on 68 minutes. Mason Mount stabbed in the leveller three minutes later only for Mason Greenwood to stoop and head the Gardeners back in front with seven minutes to go. Kyle Walker’s clean meant that honours were even. The Aardvarks are back to within four points of the summit after beating Cheese Makers 4-2. Matthew’s team were two up at the break courtesy of a Chris Wood penalty and a calm Danny Ings finish. It all turned round after the interval. Two goals from Diogo Jota brought things level, Ollie Watkins tapped in with three minutes left to give Ady’s team the lead and Liam Cooper added a clean.

A point behind Ady’s team we find the CFJs and Trusted. The Cows beat the Muppets 1-0 thanks to a a composed Joelinton sidefoot finish (yes, you did read that right.) It was more comfortable for Beef’s team who ran out 5-1 winners at YTFIB. Julian’s team took an early lead through the revitalised Jesse Lingard and were still one up at half-time. Alexander Mitrovic got the equaliser on 61 minutes, his first of the season, when he pounced a defensive slip. Nathan Redmond volleyed in his first of the campaign five minutes later, Joe Willock smashed in off the bar to make it 3-1 and Beef wrapped it up with cleans from Jeff Schlupp and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Stanley Athletic and the Wateringhole Society were also top half winners. Aaron’s team trailed to Mega Bucks after Jack Harrison’s early back post tap-in, levelled on 31 minutes when Stuart Armstrong finished off a great team from the edge of the box and won it with a clean from January signing Ozan Kabak. Kiran strolled to a 4-0 win at Nil Satis. Christian Pulisic followed up a rebound to score the first after 27 minutes and Matheus Pereira added two more in first-half injury time. Marcus Rashford completed the scoring just after the hour.

Paul S is still top of the Pauls though after Paul G beat Paul W 1-0. An uninteresting game was settled by Leander Dendoncker’s towering header late in the first half. Markian and Claymore are our bottom two after a 2-2 draw. A five minute Harry Kane brace had Ian two up by half time, Clive hit back in the second half through James Rodriguez and got a point with a smart sidefoot from the edge of the area from Mbaye Diagne.
