The top of the table seems like some sort of ‘hot potato’ as Ben could no longer hang on to it and Fred takes over. The Artisans went down 3-2 to Mega Bucks, two goals from Michail Antonio and one from P-E Aubameyang putting Dave three up. Jonny Evans replied for the Artisans and Billy Gilmour picked up a clean but that was the end of the scoring. Fred needed a clean to beat Cheese Makers 3-2. It was the Gardeners’ young guns with the goals, Fabio Silva’s deflection equalising Chris Wood’s early penalty and Ferran Torres well-placed shot making it 2-1. A brilliant Anwar El Ghazi strike levelled it for Matthew with ten minutes to play but Kurt Zouma’s clean decided the game in Fred’s favour.
The CFJs are up to third after smashing San Dimas 5-0. Gareth Bale scored his first WSFFL hat-trick since the PCMT Final of 2012/13 against - San Dimas. Danny Welbeck also added a smart goal against one of his former clubs. Trusted are up to fourth, just four points off the top, after beating Markian 2-0. Jannik Westergaard was sent off after ten minutes to take Ian down to ten but it took cleans from Aurier and Webster to do the job for Beef.
The Aardvarks slipped back after being held 2-2 by Claymore. Ady led 1-0 at the break, courtesy of Ollie Watkins then Sergio Aguero equalised with a stunning strike, it’s his first goal of an injury-truncated season. Mbaye Diagne put Clive ahead but Son Heung-Min curled in from the edge of the area to earn the Aardvarks a point. Stanley are in sixth after edging Wheel Madrid 3-2. Aaron was three up just after the hour mark, two from Kai Havertz and a James Ward-Prowse penalty, before Paul W hit back with cleans from Zinchenko and Thiago Silva to make the end of the game a bit twitchy.
The Wateringhole and YTFIB played out a drab 0-0 which leaves Kiran’s top half space looking vulnerable. Real Muppets are back in eighth after a big clean sheet win at Nil Satis. Dominic Calvert-Lewin put Paul S in front on 19 minutes and held on until Ryan rolled out cleans from Emerson, James, Bellerin and Christensen.
