Kiran now knows what it’s like not to win in the league this season after being held 3-3 by Wheel Madrid. Two for Maxwell Cornet and one for Callum Hudson-Odoi had the leaders three up but the Wheelmen fought back with Callum Wilson’s overhead kick, a long overdue James Maddison goal and Thiago Silva’s clean sheet. Claymore lead three teams four points behind after beating Cheese Makers 2-0. A great hit from range from Youri Tielemans opened the scoring on 14 minutes and a towering header from Yuraj Kucka finished the scoring 12 minutes from time.
The CFJs are third after a comprehensive win at the Aardvarks. Ady led after 13 minutes when Diogo Jota slid in but the Cows were level at the break thanks to Tino Livramento’s textbook downward header. An unlucky Max Aarons own goal put the Cows 2-1 up and they finished things late on with Rodrigo’s injury time penalty and Edouard Mendy’s clean. The Artisans beat the Muppets in a nine-score thriller to stay fourth. After Mason Mount’s opener Ryan’s team took control thanks to a Phil Foden double and a Reece James dink to make it 3-1 at the interval. Ben turned it round with Emile Smith Rowe’s deflected shot, Alexis Mac Allister’s penalty and then Mount completing his hat-trick with two in the last five minutes before James added a consolation clean for Ryan.
Trusted lost ground after a 1-1 draw with San Dimas. Richardson’s diving header looked to have won it for Beef before Riyad Mahrez found himself alone in the Trusted box to level five minutes into injury time. Fred splits those two teams in the table after a 3-2 win at Mega Bucks. Mo Salah’s wondrous form continues and he got all three of the Gardeners’ goals. Salah now has ten for the season, three more than anyone else. Go on, have a guess at the player in second place in the counter totals this season. I’ll tell you at the bottom of the email.
Stanley jumped above Mega Bucks to go eighth with a 3-2 win at Nil Satis. Ben Chilwell fired Aaron ahead after 57 minutes but two late goals from Josh King* put Paul ahead. Cleans from Chilwell and Virgil van Dijk switched things back into Aaron’s favour. YTFIB pulled away from Markian at the bottom with a 3-2 win over those opponents. All Julian’s goals, from Naby Keita, Hwang and Ilkay Gundogan, came in the first 13 minutes. Thomas Partey and a Jannik Westergaard clean reduced the deficit for Ian but he ultimately came up short.
* King scored three in ‘real life’ but was Paul’s sub and not on the fantasy pitch when his first went in.
