With Trusted only managing a draw with Markian in their rearranged game it was the Wateringhole that started the week at the top on goal difference. That didn’t last.

Kiran’s team were held 0-0 by Fred while Beef’s team won 2-1 against Cheese Makers. Emmanuel Dennis and Jeffrey Schlupp scoring for Trusted either side of a Ben Mee own goal.

Claymore are just three points off the summit after beating Stanley 3-1. Kasper Schmeichel was the hero with a clean and a saved penalty. Cristiano Ronalso was also on target for Clive. There’s a five-point gap to the CFJs who beat the Artisans 2-0 with first-half goals from Odsonne Edouard and Tomas Soucek . San Dimas High School are on the same points after a 3-0 all clean sheet win over YTFIB.

The Aardvarks' good run has propelled them into the top half this week after a goalless draw with Mega Bucks. Nearer the foot of the table Wheels and Markian finished 1-1, the unhappy Romelu Lukaku putting Paul W ahead, Harry Kane equalising from the spot for Ian.

Nil Satis and the Muppets will try again when the fixture list allows.

With Markian v Trusted postponed due to rising Covid cases Beef could only watch on and see if his title rivals could close in. They could.

The Wateringhole are back on top after beating YTFIB 3-0. Julian’s team held out until 65 minutes when Ruben Dias bagged an early clean and Kiran confirmed the win with more cleans from Nelson Semedo and Ezri Konsa. Claymore are only three points off the top after seeing off San Dimas 4-1. A smart Roman Saiss finish in first half injury time put the Swordsmen ahead but that lead only lasted until four minutes after the break when Riyad Mahrez equalised for me. John Stones smashed in to restore Clive’s lead and Stones and Saiss added cleans to boost Clive’s goal difference.

Stanley Athletic lost touch though after a 5-2 thrashing by the Muppets. Ryan ended his bad run in fine style, Phil Foden scored from distance on eight minutes and Kevin De Bruyne added a second on 32 minutes. A textbook James Ward-Powse free-kick pulled one back for Aaron almost straight away but it was 3-1 two minutes later when Jacob Ramsey found the top corner. De Bruyne’s second on 62 minutes made it 4-1 and though Jordan Ayew pulled one back for Stanley, Ederson’s clean rounded things off in Ryan’s favour. Champions Fred also woke from their slumbers to beat the CFJs 3-2. Jack Grealish headed the Gardeners ahead on 13 minutes and Mo Salah followed up a save to double the lead 12 minutes later. Gabriel Martinelli has suddenly found form and made it 3-0 just after the break and though the Cows picked up two cleans it wasn’t enough for a point.

The Aardvarks have clicked into gear ahead of the Charity Shield Final and saw off the Artisans 5-2 this week. A Jonjo Shelvey long-ranger set Ady on his way after seven minutes and Diogo Jota doubled the lead on 21 minutes. The action hotted up in the second half. Mason Mount and Emile Smith Rowe had levelled the scores by the 87th minute only for Ollie Watkins to put the Aardvarks back ahead from close range. Kieren Tierney and Ben White cleans put a shine on the final score. Cheese Makers and Nil Satis are both unbeaten in seven after a tight goalless draw at Le Stade Fromage. Mega Bucks snapped their poor run with a 2-0 win over the inconsistent Wheel Madrid. Wilf Zaha took just two minutes top open the scoring and a Nathan Ake header completed the win 12 minutes from time.
