The CFJs hold a huge eight point lead a third of the way into our season. Chris and Co saw off second place Fred 5-3 this week to keep their unbeaten run going. In a terrific first half the Cows led with an early Rodrigo penalty only for the Gardeners to turn it round with goals from Mohamed Salah and Morgan Gibbs-White inside 20 minutes. Miguel Almiron kept his 'Goal of the Month every month' bid going after 35 minutes when finishing off a dazzling run. Five minutes later Fred led again, Salah latching on to a defensive mistake for a simple finish. It was level again after 63 minutes when Gabriel finished from practically underneath the bar. Yoann Wissa lobbed the leaders in front with a quarter of an hour to go and Daniel Amartey finally clinched the win with a clean.

Trusted are third after a 1-1 draw with San Dimas. Joe Willock toe-poked Beef ahead just after the hour mark but debut-maker Crysencio Summerville finished a one-on-one with six minutes left to give me a share of the points. The Artisans are fourth after going down 2-0 to Cheese Makers. Matthew’s first win of the season was earned through goals from Julian Alvarez, smashing into the roof of the net on 16 minutes, and a Bryan Mbeumo penalty in first half injury time. The Wateringhole are fifth after a second successive 2-2 draw, this time against Claymore. Clive went ahead on 12 minutes through an off-balance Gonzalo Guedes finish. Kiran levelled one minute from the interval when Kaoru Mitoma headed in on debut only for Youri Tielemans (who appears to be in a Goal of the Month competition with Almiron every month) to volley Claymore ahead again. The Wateringhole’s second equaliser came late, Harvey Barnes turn and shot on 86 minutes.

The Muppets are sixth with half the points of the leaders. Ryan went down 5-2 to the improving Aardvarks this week. Ady was two up at the break thanks to Marcus Tavernier and an unlucky Jacob Ramsey own goal. Ramsey picked out the top corner at the right end to reduce the deficit four minutes after the restart but Chris Wood’s shot on the turn and Liam Cooper headed home to make it 4-1. Erling Haaland’s penalty for Ryan was a minor consolation before Ben White’s clean finished the scoring and made it three wins in a row for Ady. Stanley and Gracie picked up their first win since September, 3-2 at Mega Bucks. Andreas Pereira opened the scoring from the spot for Aaron but it was 1-1 at half-time after Wilf Zaha smashed in from 14 yards. Keiran Trippier bagged an early clean and Pascal Gross slid to convert the third for SGU seven minutes from time. Bruno Guimaraes injury time shot from the edge of the D couldn’t set up a late comeback.

Wheel Madrid edged Nil Satis 2-1. Leon Bailey outpaced Paul S’s defence to fire Paul W in front on seven minutes and a tight game had to wait for second half injury time for the next goal, Michael Olise’s deflected shot looping in for 2-0. Nil Satis had time to pull one back from a Matt Doherty clean but it wasn’t enough to take anything from the game. Markian just saw off YTFIB 1-0. Harry Kane’s first-time finish with 20 minutes enough to earn all the points for Ian.
