Aardvark Abacus 4 v 1 Trusted By Millions
Markian United 2 v 0 Wheel Madrid
Real Muppets 1 v 0 Nil Satis Nisi Optimum
San Dimas High School 3 v 2 Claymore Athletic FC
The last time a team did the league and FA Cup double was 2016/17 when Fred completed the treble. Before that, Clive did the double in 2011/12. Ady very much has it in his sights this season.
The Aardvarks progressed to the semi-finals with a 4-1 win over Trusted. After a 4-4 draw in the league last week, Ady kept Beef's team much quieter. Ollie Watkins moved to 12 for the season with a brace and though Leandro Trossard pulled one back on 66 minutes Ben White’s early clean restored the advantage and Lewis Dunk added a clean of his own. Markian are a step nearer winning their first trophy after seeing off Wheel Madrid 2-0. Darwin Nunez is in double figures for the season after his 35th minute chipped opener. In a tight game it was Rodri’s deflected shot with seven minutes left that settled it.
Claymore’s double dreams went down 3-2 at San Dimas. This was despite Rasmus Hojlund netting twice in the first seven minutes. My team worked their way back into the game after the break. Rodrigo Muniz nipped in at the near post to pull one back, a solo effort from Kai Havertz levelled the game and Victor Lindelof’s second half clean was the winner. The Muppets made their third semi-final in four seasons after edging Nil Satis 1-0. Both Erling Haaland and Dominic Calvert-Lewin were misfiring for their respective managers and it took a Calvin Bassey clean from the bench to decide the tie.
