A third defeat in four in the league leaves Fred reeling like a punch-drunk prizefighter - but his opponents are unable to deliver a knockout blow. When Dele Alli put the leaders 3-2 up with two minutes to go all looked well in the Gardeners’ garden but a goal from Son and a Monreal clean turned the game on its head and gave the win to the Aardvarks. (Fixture Stat No. 1 - Fred’s last four games are against teams in the current top six). The Muppets missed the chance to close with defeat to Mega Bucks. Phillipe Coutinho in the first half and Josh King late on have Dave easing away from the bottom four.

Wheel Madrid led twice but ultimately had to settle for a draw with draw specialists The Wateringhole Society. Negredo and Vardy goals cancelled by a first for Niang and a clean from Keane. (Fixture Stat No.2 - Kiran’s last three games are against the other members of the bottom four). Have the CFJs left their charge too late? They inflicted the first league defeat of 2017 on Athletico thanks to cleans from Mustafi and Janmaat after Brian had led 3-2 with five minutes left.

The Artisans and Trusted played out a 3-3 draw which keeps them both on the outskirts of the title race. Beef was 2-0 up after 14 minutes through Afobe and Markovic but needed a Mee clean to get a point after Origi, Yoshidi and Eriksen had given Ben a sniff of all three points. Cheese Makers added to Nil Satis’ woes with a 2-0 win. Troy Deeney just after the break and a Robert Huth clean gave Matthew the points and make it five without troubling the scorers for Paul.

Maarten de Roon’s first for San Dimas and one from Theo Walcott gave me enough of a buffer to hold on against FCK2 while Claymore made it out wins out of nine in the league. YTFIB were Clive’s victims this time but the Swordsmen needed Cathcart’s clean after Zlatan’s penalty looked like grabbing a point for Julian.
