In the kingdom of the draws, the winning manager is king. That’s very much Fred this week who raced to a 3-0 lead over Cheese Makers in just over half an hour, goals from Slimani, Hazard and Alli, and then relaxed to see how his pursuers were doing. Not so well was the answer and his lead is now six points. The Muppets hold that second place still after a draw with the CFJs. Luka Milivojevic opened his WSFFL account from the spot on 68 minutes but a Ben Davies clean grabbed a point for Chris and Co who are in fourth.

Wheel Madrid split those two sides after a clean sheet victory over FCK2. Ragnar Klavan and Sam Byram haven’t appeared too many times on the scoresheet for Paul but they did the job this week. The Artisans recent rampage was slowed by the other Goddard Park stadium tenants, The Wateringhole Society. Ben’s outside title chances were intact after Roberto Firmino’s stunning half-volley on 72 minutes but Marcus Rashford found the far corner with a low shot on 89 to give Kiran a record equalling 11th draw of the season.

After getting into striking distance earlier in the year Trusted are now seven without a win. Beef’s team went down 2-0 to an inspired Mega Bucks outfit. A deflected shot just before the break from Josh King got Dave off the mark and Phillippe Coutinho added a second with 20 minutes left. Athletico are another team racking up the draws and picked up another this week against Claymore. Brian needed Cedric Soares’ clean to get a point after Sergio Aguero had fired Clive in front on 42 minutes.

The Aardvarks have come out of hibernation in recent weeks and demolished San Dimas to keep in touch with the top half. Romelu Lukaku opened the scoring for me and added another in the second half to take him to 22 for the season but two from Son, one from Jagielka and cleans from Gibson, Stephens and Trippier gave Ady his biggest win of the season. In the bottom four battle Paul S broke his barren goalscoring run inside 30 seconds from Tom Davies but the game against YTFIB ended 2-2. Marcos Alonso’s superb free-kick for Nil Satis turning out to be the last goal after Zlatan and Fabian Delph had scored for Julian.
