he CFJs clinch their second title, five years after their first - in a roundabout sort of way.

Chris and Co. lost their game against the Muppets, despite Roberto Pereyra slotting them into a lead on two minutes, when Ryan’s team responded with cleans from Emerson and Hector Bellerin. When the whistle went at Drove Stadium the CFJs fans already knew that the only team that could deny them the title were not going to do it. Aardvark Abacus had gone in at the break 1-1 in their must win v Nil Satis but couldn’t find a winner. Instead a deflected Tom Davies shot deep into injury time put Paul S ahead and a Marcos Alonso clean meant any lingering hopes of the title joining the FA Cup at the Aardvark Abacus Aldi Arena were extinguished.

Ady is a point ahead of Ryan in the runner-up race but Fred could pip them both. He came back from a Pascal Gross header against me with cleans from Craig Dawson and Cesar Azpilicueta to win 2-1 and keep the pressure on the teams above. The Artisans push for another top three finish has ended after defeat to the improving Markian. James McArthur made it two in two weeks on 68 minutes and a rare sighting of a Luke Shaw clean puts the new managers in sight of a top half finish (at my expense!) at the first attempt.

Claymore are sixth after enjoying their trip to Le Stade Fromage with a 3-1 win. The game hinged on one first half incident. The score was 1-1 when Troy Deeney had the chance to put Matthew’s team ahead from the spot. He failed. Dubravka saved and put Claymore in control, Aaron Cresswell’s clean making it 3-1 in the end. Trusted are right behind after Beef left it late to get the win at Wheel Madrid. Cleans from Nicolas Otamendi and Gary Cahill condemn Wheels to 15th spot.

Is there a manager more looking forward to next season then Dave? His Mega Bucks outfit have livened up for the addition of P-E Aubameyang who got two more this week in a big win over the Phoenix. That’s seven already since he joined. Sead Kolasinac got a goal and a clean too and Mark Noble blasted home a volley in a 5-1 win over Brian’s team. YTFIB had been pushing for a top ten finish but that’s out of reach after defeat to the Wateringhole Society. Alex Iwobi smashing into the roof of the net on 64 minutes was the only goal of the game for Kiran.
