Report

Still no nearer working out our PCMT finalists. Nil Satis and Mega Bucks, both looking for their first final appearance, played out an edgy goalless draw. The Muppets and Claymore couldn’t be separated either. Sadio Mane’s early goal for Ryan cancelled out by John Stones clean for Clive.

In the Charity Shield - I think Fred might have a bogey team. After being beaten 9-0 in week one the Gardeners were on the end of a 7-1 hiding from the Wateringhole. First half goals from Marcus Rashford and Harvey Barnes set up Kiran’s win, Bukaya Saka made it three on 56 minutes. Bruno Fernandes threw Fred a lifeline but cleans from Region, Dias and Keane see the Wateringhole into their first final. They’ll play San Dimas who got past Cheese Makers 2-0 thanks to cleans from Joao Cancelo and new signing Antonee Robinson.

In the replays -

A couple of cracking goals saw Mega Bucks into their first final at the expense of Nil Satis. Jack Harrison found the top corner on 36 minutes and Wilf Zaha’s volley doubled the lead 13 minutes after the break. A depleted Nil satis had no reply. Claymore and the Muppets will try again after a second 1-1 draw. It was roles reversed this time. Olivier Giroud headed Clive in front, James Tarkowski’s clean earned a second replay for Ryan.

That resulted in the Muppets reaching their second PCMT Final in four years and they'll face Mega Bucks at the end of the month. Level at half-time, a Toby Alderweireld header and an early Hector Bellerin clean made it 3-1 to Ryan’s team. Youri Tielemans pulled one back for Clive but he could never get back on terms and cleans from Alderweireld and Ogbonna put a sheen on the final result.
