Re-arranged Week 9 game:
Wheel Madrid 3 v 4 San Dimas High School
Wheels raced into a 3-0 lead by the break courtesy of a brace from James Maddison and one from Jamie Vardy against his former club but my team showed a bit of backbone for a change and picked up four cleans for an unlikely victory.
League Week 10:
Aardvark Abacus 1 v 1 Fred West Landscape Gardening XI
Markian United 4 v 0 Mega Buck Bandits
Nil Satis Nisi Optimum 0 v 1 The Fabulous Artisans
Real Muppets 2 v 2 Trusted By Millions
San Dimas High School 1 v 0 Claymore Athletic FC
Stanley Athletic FC 2 v 1 Cheese Makers
The Wateringhole Society 1 v 2 The Cow-Faced Juniors
YTFIB 4 v 3 Wheel Madrid
New leaders. Stanley Athletic take over after the Aardvarks and Fred played out a 1-1 draw. Mo Salah’s late penalty for the Gardeners was pegged back by Ryan Bertrand’s clean for Ady. That opened the door for Aaron’s team and they just about walked through with a 2-1 win over bottom-placed Cheese Makers. Mateusz Klich opened the scoring with a re-taken spot-kick, Stuart Armstrong added a second just after the hour mark, Yerry Mina’s clean was not enough of a reply for Matthew to grab a point.
The CFJs are fourth after a 2-1 win at the Wateringhole. Miguel Almiron opened the scoring for the Cows inside the first minute, Tomas Soucek added a second on 25 and they kept Kiran’s team quiet until Ruben Dias’ consolation clean. Nil Satis are also on 16 points after a 1-0 defeat to the Artisans. Ben’s team getting the job done courtesy of Jonny Evans' clean and moving up to eighth.
The Muppets and Trusted battled to a 2-2 draw which leave both of them in the middle of the table. Beef led twice, through Che Adams and Jeffrey Schlupp, Ryan’s equalisers came from the head of Angelo Ogbonna and the clean sheet of James Tarkowski. Mega Bucks early season challenge is fading a bit and Dave’s team suffered a 4-0 hiding to Markian this week. Goals from Gylfi Sigurdsson and Harry Kane in the space of two first-half minutes had Ian in control, P-E Aubameyang’s own goal with 17 minutes left meant the game was up for Dave.
San Dimas’ good week continued after my team edged out Claymore 1-0, Kyle Walker-Peters clean sheet being the only score. How’s your luck Paul W? After going down 3-4 to San Dimas in the rearranged game the same thing happened against YTFIB. Wheels raced into a 3-0 lead by the break courtesy of a brace from James Maddison and one from Jamie Vardy. Julian turned it in his favour with cleans from Pope, Taylor, Godfrey and Justin.
