Last week’s top three were all beaten. The Aardvarks went down 3-1 at Le Stade Fromage but hang on to top spot. A classic Son Heung-Min cut in and shot from outside the box had Ady ahead on 13 minutes but Matthew’s side turned the game round late on. Clean sheets from Neco Williams, Andy Robertson and new signing Caomhin Kelleher bring the Cheese a bit closer to the teams above them. Stanley Athletic missed their chance to take over at the top going down 2-0 to Mega Bucks. Wilf Zaha got both goals in a 14 minute spell in the second half to lift Dave into the top six.
Fred’s up to third, two points behind, after a 4-2 win over the Artisans. Patrick Bamford opened the scoring for Ben on four minutes but a defensive slip led to Mo Salah’s equaliser twenty minutes later. A great strike from Gini Wijnaldum on 58 minutes restored Ben’s lead but a second equaliser came via the head of Kurt Zouma three minutes later. A brilliant turn and shot from Mason Greenwood put the Gardeners in front for the first time seven minutes later and a clean from Hugo Loris confirmed the win. Nil Satis are down to fourth after a 3-1 defeat to the Wateringhole. Dominic Calvert-Lewin slid Paul S ahead in first half stoppage time but the tide turned in the last 15 minutes. Marcus Rashford and Christian Pulisic got goals for Kiran and Sergio Reguilon got the clean to make it 3-1.
The Muppets are up to fourth after beating the CFJs 4-1. Kevin De Bruyne teed up Raheem Sterling inside five minutes and then converted a penalty himself to double Ryan's lead. Tomas Soucek stole in at the far post to pull one back for Chris and Co. but the Muppets held off the comeback and added cleans through Emerson and Christian Fuchs. Champions Trusted are still going the right way after edging YTFIB 2-1. Julian’s team held the lead for more than hour after Oli McBurnie’s header before the Beef comeback through cleans by Serge Aurier and Ben Mee.
Claymore and Markian remain in the bottom five after a 2-2 draw. Olivier Giroud slid in to put Clive in front after 27 minutes but he was 2-1 down at the break, Jannik Vestergaard heading in and then Harry Kane smashing in off the bar in the space of a minute. John Stones’ clean grabbed a point for Claymore. The Wheel Madrid/San Dimas game was postponed and will hopefully happen this week if everyone’s healthy.
