The CFJs continue serenely on at the top of the table. This week they brushed Wheel Madrid aside 4-0. Goalless at the break, Eberechi Eze poked under Islian Meslier to put the Cows ahead ten minutes after the interval and Odsonne Edouard doubled the lead 14 minutes later slanting his shot across the keeper to the far post. Max Kilman and Vladimir Coufal added clean sheets at the end. That’s four without scoring for Wheels now who are looking down rather than up.

Fred stays four points off the top after a big win at title rivals The Wateringhole in a game where both teams missed penalties. Gabriel Martinelli struck early for the Gardeners and Mohamed Salah was in the right place to make it 2-0 three minutes before half-time. Ivan Toney converted a spot-kick to reduce the deficit in first half injury time but Jack Grealish followed up his own shot to restore the advantage just before the hour. Kurt Zouma’s clean made it 4-1 keeping Fred on the heels of the leaders and dealing a blow to Kiran’s team.

Markian bounced back from Cup defeat to beat Mega Bucks 1-0. Harry Kane (naturally) getting the only goal with a shot from the edge of the area. Stanley and Gracie are fifth, also winning 1-0 this week, Harry Maguire getting his first ‘counter’ of the season to beat Nil Satis. A good week for the Artisans was topped off by a 4-3 win at the Muppets. Patrick Bamford headed Ben in front on 21 minutes, Scott McTominay smashed in at the near post to level and Erling Haaland’s header put Ryan ahead on 45 minutes. There was still time for Marc Guehi to hook in an equaliser before half-time. Haaland’s scissor kick put the Muppets ahead after 68 minutes but cleans from Kenny Tete and Craig Dawson sent Ben home with the points.

Trusted are finding form a bit too late and just got the better of Cheese Makers this week. Gabriel Jesus headed Beef in front but Philip Billing latched onto a defensive error to have Matthew level by half-time. An unlucky deflection off David Raya Martin put Trusted in front again and Alexander Isak’s excellent finish made it 3-1 just after the hour. Julian Alvarez pulled one back from the spot but Beef’s team held on. The Aardvarks and YTFIB are eighth and ninth after those teams played out an entertaining 3-3 draw. Son Heung-Min’s curling shot had Ady in front early but Nick Pope’s saved penalty made it 1-1. Lewis Dunk’s header on 34 minutes had Ady back in front but an early (and short) Joel Ward clean brought the game level again. Ollie Watkins dinked in five minutes into injury time to give the Aardvarks the lead for a third time but Julian found an equaliser through Adam Smith’s clean.

San Dimas and Claymore played out a dull 0-0 draw. Let’s move on.
