Claymore were made to wait to get their hands on the trophy after being held by Trusted. Sergio Aguero got Clive’s goal from the spot but Beef’s new signing Timothy Fosu-Mensah snuck off with a clean on 68 minutes and the game ended level. Clive can only be denied in a four defeat, four win, ridiculous goal difference switch round sort of way. Fred’s chances of cutting the deficit ended with a big home defeat to the CFJs. Chris and Co were 4-0 inside 40 minutes, Ozil, Sigurdsson, Sanchez and Pelle all on target, and Fred’s only reply came from Dele Alli. The CFJs might be favourites for second place now.

The Phoenix are currently in that second place after beating the Wateringhole Society. Brian’s team left it late, Jordan Ayew scored five minutes from time and an Ashley Williams clean doubled the advantage. The Aardvarks’ late charge up the table was halted by Final Fantasy. James McCarthy got Ady’s goal in first half injury time, but Ceri left it late to get the draw with Damien Delaney’s clean.

After a surprise defeat last week the Artisans’ late push is back on. Ben’s team fell behind to Bojan for Nil Satis but a second-half Divock Origi brace kept all the points at Goddard Park. San Dimas had been slipping down the table but steadied the ship this week with a win at FCK2. Stephane Sessegnon and Victor Wanyama both got their first goals of the season either side of an Andy Carroll hat-trick (he should have been sent off mind) for Kevin and Jon. Two goals from Jamie Vardy took my team to victory.

Where was this Muppets team at the start of the season? A third win in a row for Ryan’s team after trailing twice to Cheese Makers. Laurent Koscielny’s instinctive strike and Toby Alderweireld’s header in the space of five minutes meant Ryan left the Stade with the points. Another team on the up is YTFIB. It’s three wins in four now for Julian who shrugged off the Mega Bucks challenge thanks to a Christian Fuchs clean at the death.

Claymore bounced back from their 4-0 thumping last time with a win that puts them on the verge of retaining the title. That was over my team who took an early lead through Fernando. Sergio Aguero and another sumptuous Dimitri Payet free-kick had Clive ahead by the break but a late Theo Walcott goal evened things up. Ivanovic and Evans cleans earned Claymore all the points. It’s two wins in 13 no for my team. Fred are second after a win at injury-stricken Athletico. Anthony Martial finished off a great move on 54 minutes but Fred didn’t panic, he had four clean sheets up his sleeve and took three points back to Toronto. It’s one win in nine for Athletico.

The CFJs leapfrogged the Abacus with a 2-1 win over those opponents. Alexis Sanchez got the Howells off to a great start on four minutes and Gylfi Sigurdsson was on target again too. From open play this time! Ady only found a Daley Blind clean in reply. The Artisans recent charge up the table by the unlikely source of YTFIB. It was Martin Olsson’s shot that picked out the bottom corner of the Artisans net three minutes into injury time that was the only score of the match in Julian’s favour.

FCK2 beat Final Fantasy to get themselves back into the top half. Damien Delaney nodded in a gift for Ceri after a keeper error but a great Harry Kane turn and shot got the game level and Kevin and Jon took the win thanks to a Chris Smalling clean. Cheese Makers are the team that drop out of the top eight due to defeat at Nil satis. Matthew was two up here too through Manuel Lanzini and a Timm Klose header before half time. It all changed after the break with Pedro, twice, and Bojan getting the goals for Paul and Dan (doubling their season totals) before the hour mark.

Honours even between Trusted and Mega Bucks. Dave was two up in this one. Wes Morgan with a header and Phillippe Coutinho placing one out of reach. Beef turned it round late on. First through Alberto Paloschi and then Nicolas Otamendi with the equalising clean. The Muppets got their second successive 5-1 win, this time the Wateringhole Society were the victims. At least Kiran can pat himself on the back over new signing Alex Iwobi who opened the scoring. After half-time it was one way traffic. Hector Bellerin got a deflected goal and a clean and Alex Mitrovic also got two for Ryan.
