Erling Haaland’s goal drought didn’t last into a second week. He got two in the Muppets 4-0 win over the Aardvarks that takes them top. Claymore are the only other team with six points. Clive was a little sucker in a 2-1 win over Beef with a Donnarumma own goal and an early clean from Bobby Thomas to thank.

San Dimas are third but were held 1-1 by Wheel Madrid. Alexander Isak’s goal on the hour for Paul W soon levelled by Anthony Elanga. There’s only one other unbeaten team, the CFJs. They had a ding-dong 3-3 draw with Cheese Makers, Joao Pedro scoring for both teams and Matthew rescuing a point with a Dan Ballard clean.

Big winners of the week were GC TotW who took out the champions 5-0. The Artisans had no answer to Bruno Fernandes who hit the first hat-trick of the season. Nil Satis were comfortable 3-0 winners over Mega Bucks who drop to the bottom. Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Dan Ndoye were on target for Paul S.

SGU picked up their first three points courtesy of a 2-1 win over YTFIB. A goal from Pedro Neto and a clean from Semi Ajayi seeing Aaron home. Markian also got a first win, 2-1 over the Wateringhole Society to leave’s Kiran’s team still pointless. Ian’s goals from the twinkletoed Ryan Cherki.

Not the best start of the season for Wheel Madrid. After Emi Buendia had twice gone close a Claymore shot twanged off a post and smacked Victor Lindelof for an unlucky own goal in the eighth minute. The writing was on the wall and Clive’s team ended up 4-0 winners with new signings Jack Clarke and Tarik Muharemovic on the scoresheet. San Dimas only scored 21 actual goals last season so to get four in the first week was a surprise to everybody. I had two early goals from Elanga and Havertz and two late ones from Stach and Gvardiol. I think they managed eight between them last term. Both managers probably still in shock.

The Muppets bounced back from conceding to Joao Pedro in the first minute to beat Cheese Makers 3-1. There were two goals in less tan two minutes from Ryan’s star man whose surname begins with H. Yes, Jack Hinshelwood. Champions the Fabulous Artisans picked up their first win since April, 2-0 over Nil Satis. Martin Odegaard scuffed a shot in just after the break, Marc Guehi doubled the lead with six minutes to go.

Trusted got off to a poor start last season so Beef will be relieved to kick off with a 2-0 victory over GC TotW. Cole Palmer looked his old self and scored the first on 49 minutes, Thierno Barry added a second four minutes later. It would be no surprise to to see the Wateringhole and the Aardvarks in the title tussle and it was Ady’s team who struck a blow with a 3-2 win over Kiran’s side. The Aardvarks decider was a Jayden Bogle clean sheet. 

The CFJs and SGU will both fancy being a bit closer to the sharp end this season and it was the Cows who edged this one 3-2. The CFJs had goals from new signings Emersonn and Gonzalo Garcia but it looked like Domink Szoboszlai had grabbed a point with a late penalty for Aaron. Cristian Mosquera’s clean was the CFJ’s winner. Our last week one winner was YTFIB who picked up a 2-1 victory at Mega Bucks. Maxim De Cuyper put Dave ahead but James Justin and new signing Costinha clean sheets turned things in Julian’s favour.
