Realistically? Three? Or are the Aardvarks now in the argument?
Ady’s team halted Trusted’s recent great form with a 3-2 win. Early goals from Son and Lacazette were cancelled out by Jesus (his tenth of the season) and Bernardo Silva 11 minutes into the second half. Ady’s winner came from Diogo Jota. Three more wins for the Aardvark’s would mean that the top three have to win two of their remaining games. Stanley Athletic sank to their first league defeat in spectacular style against Cheese Makers. 23 minutes in and all was looking good for Aaron after goals from Armstrong and Martial. It changed after half an hour. Yerry Mina limped off with a clean and Andrew Robertson scored a great header to make it 2-2 at the break. Two Troy Deeney penalties put Matthew’s team in control and three Cheese cleans made it a very one-sided result.
Claymore haven’t picked up a league win since the resumption and went down 4-2 to Mega Bucks this week. Strictly speaking it was 4-2 to Michail Antonio who got all Dave’s goals and doubled his tally for the season in the process. YTFIB are just six points off the top and are the only team with a 100% record since lockdown. Julian’s team continued their excellent run with a 3-0 win at the CFJs, Oli McBurnie got the first, Dominic Solanke got two from the bench.
Fred’s 100% record since we returned was ended 2-0 by the Artisans. Ben’s counters came from cleans by Fabianski and Walker to give him only his second win this year. San Dimas are the last and unlikeliest of our mathematical contenders after beating Wheel Madrid 2-1. New signing Dwight Gayle put me ahead, Jamie Vardy immediately equalised for Paul W but a lovely flick header by Leander Dendoncker straight after halftime was the winner.
Raheem Sterling’s hat-trick helped Ryan’s team to a 6-0 thrashing of Markian. The Muppets are unbeaten since lockdown, Markian have failed to pick up a point. Nil Satis moved up a place (overtaking Wheel Madrid) with a 3-2 win at The Wateringhole. All looked good for Kiran at halftime following goals from Rashford and Jimenez but cleans from Patricio, Doherty and Basham gave Paul S all the points.
