I think we have to start with Trusted (sorry Paul). Beef’s win is the biggest victory on record https://wsffl.blogspot.com/2022/06/the-big-list-of-big-scores.html
Eli Kroupi announced himself with two first half goals, Jean-Philippe Mateta hit a second half hat-trick (and will be disappointed not to have scored more), there was a goal and a clean from Nordi Mukiele and more besides. Can we expect Beef's team to go on the charge from here or is this a false dawn? Away from that the Artisans are now five points clear after beating YTFIB 3-0. Josh Acheampong headed Ben’s team in front just after the break and a clever back heel from Nick Woltemade made it two. Riccardo Calafiori added a clean. It’s a milestone for Ben who has topped the league for a 50th week in his managerial career.
The CFJs are still second but lost ground after a 3-2 defeat to Claymore. Two Danny Welbeck goals, either side of an Igor Thiago strike for Clive, had the Cows ahead with six minutes left. Cleans from Michael Kayode and Quilindschy Hartman turned things round and sent Claymore away with the points. The Muppets are up to third after strolling to a 5-0 win over Mega Bucks. All the goals came in the second half. Erling Haaland scored twice, Reece James (a goal and a clean) and Ryan Christie added the rest of the counters in the last ten minutes.
The Aardvarks are fourth after a 1-0 win at GC TotW. The only goal was a super strike from Morgan Rogers on 37 minutes. The Wateringhole lost ground though after going down 2-1 to SGU. Pedro Neto’s set-piece strike seven minutes after the break put Aaron ahead, Cody Gakpo hit back for Kiran only for Harry Maguire to place a header beyond the Wateringhole keeper with six minutes left.
Markian lost the chance to close in after being held to a goalless draw by San Dimas. That’s all that needs to be said on that game! Cheese Makers hauled themselves off the foot of the table with a 2-1 win at Wheel Madrid. Bryan Mbeumo fired in a second minute opener for Matthew, Emi Buendia hit a brilliant equaliser for Wheels but it was a David Raya clean that jumped the Cheese up to 13th.
