Ady’s serene path to the title hit a bump in the road this week. It was only a little bump as the Aardvarks’ rivals couldn’t take advantage after San Dimas shocked the leaders 3-2. Mateo Kovacic doesn’t score many but they’re usually good and that was the case with his shot that put me ahead on 64 minutes. Ady resumed normal service with Josh Brownhill charging down a clearance and a composed finish from Ollie Watkins to put him 2-1 up with three minutes to go. However, Josko Gvardiol slammed in from the edge of the area to level and Tyrick Mitchell got me the winning clean.

The CFJs missed the chance to close the gap to five points after going down 2-1 to Claymore. It looked good for the Cows after Eberechi Eze side-footed him ahead on 14 minutes but Matheus Cunha levelled five minutes before the break. It was Cunha who got the winner, bundling home on 62 minutes. SGU are third after a 4-0 win over previous incumbents the Wateringhole Society. Andreas Pereira led the way with two goals, Dominic Solanke took his total into double figures for the season and there was a first WSFFL goal for a delighted Alfie Gilchrist.

The Artisans were held 1-1 by Nil Satis and stay sixth. Nicolas Jackson’s smart shot on the turn put Ben ahead just before the break, some Jeremy Doku trickery got Paul S a point just before the end. Trusted are making an all too late run for minor honours and thrashed YTFIB 7-0. It was 4-0 inside half an hour, Cole Palmer with a hat-trick and Alexander Isak on target. Those two added second half goals as well and a Trent Alexander-Arnold clean completed the rout. Julian is getting sucked into the fight for bottom place.  The Muppets and Wheels drew 1-1 in a result that means Paul W climbs a place. Erling Haaland opened the scoring with a late penalty, Leon Bailey was alive to slam in an equaliser at the far post.

Markian and Mega Bucks drew 2-2. Vitinho bagged a half-time clean to put Dave in front only for Ian to turn it round with goals from Danilo and Fabian Schar. There was still time for Pau Torres to get a clean sheet leveller for the Bandits. When Fred starts his next rebuild in the summer Morgan Gibbs-White and Bruno Fernandes will be top of the ‘keep’ list. They got the goals (Fernandes two) that gave the Gardeners a 3-2 win over Cheese Makers. Matthew’s replies coming from Anthony Gordon and a Timothy Castagne clean.
